Description:

Beagle 2 Lander -  A lander that was to conduct exobiology and geochemistry research, and to discover evidence of life on Mars.

Mission Facts:

  • The Mars Express Orbiter is currently orbiting Mars.

  • Unfortunately, they lost contact with the lander during landing. ( group mates, help me varify.)
  •  Beagle 2 was supposed to operate on the Martian surface for 180 days. "It had a digging arm to take soil samples for investigating various instruments. " ( #1)

Importance of mission:

This mission has beeen only partially succesful due to the loss of the Beagle 2 Lander. The Mars Express Orbiter however is extremely useful in collecting valuable information.
